چکیده

Purpose. The purpose is to determine geological and geochemical characteristics of the Sutlegen (Antalya, Turkey) bauxites, identify elements that played a major role in their formation. Methods. X-ray diffraction (XRD) mineral phase analysis, fluorescence (XRF) elemental plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), petrographic mineralogical analyses, multivariate statistical methods were used. Findings. The element content ore was determined as Al2O3 (60-35.2 wt%), SiO2 (39.5-0.2 Fe2O3 (48.4-19.5 TiO2 (36.9-16 P2O5 (0.5-0.1 wt%). region, which shows epirogenetic action with uplift earth's crust, generally rich neritic carbonates. It revealed bauxite ores have undergone moderate strong laterization result deferruginization environment, they classified into four groups lateritic, ferritic, kaolinitic, bauxite. increase aluminosilicate minerals, formed during formation environment found be directly proportional processes. In this context, it considered lateritic material firstly filled cavities pores karst-type limestones sedimentary units region by superficial transfer phenomena. bivariate diagrams Log Cr vs. Ni had an ultrabasic source. Originality. literature, no scientific studies been on mineralization deposits operated for long period. Practical implications. bauxites source process igneous rocks. moved accumulated sandstone, claystone, siltstone, limestone karstic cavities; then, (kaolinitic bauxite) different classifications due effect metamorphism.

Mineralogy and REEs geochemistry of the Zaraj-Sou bauxite deposit, southwest of Ramsar, north Iran

The Zaraj-Sou bauxite deposit (southwest of Ramsar, Mazandaran Province, northern Iran) was developed as discontinuous stratified layers and/or lenses along the boundary between carbonate rocks of the Elika (Triassic) and shales and sandstones of the Shemshak (Lower Jurassic) formations. Diaspore, kaolinite, hematite, and anatase are the major mineral phases of the ores. Texturally, the bauxite...
